The Genesis of InsurCore
InsurCore was born from a simple observation: insurance agencies were drowning in outdated technology while the solutions they needed already existed. The challenge wasn't the absence of technology—it was finding someone who understood both the insurance business and the technology landscape well enough to bridge that gap.
Our story begins in 2014, when our founder Erik Jensen was leading an Independent Insurance agent through their Applied Epic implementation and then further lead the data conversion team for a Connecticut-based insurance back office company. Working directly with agencies across the country, Erik witnessed firsthand the struggles agencies faced with technology adoption, system migrations, and process optimization. More importantly, he saw the incredible transformation that occurred when agencies got their technology right.

Leadership: Erik Jensen, Founder & Principal
Background & Experience
Erik never thought of being an insurance agent as a child, nor getting into any sort of business consulting roles. Coming from humble roots and an entrepreneurial background, Erik knew his next phase of his career would be a combination of his passions: helping others, technology & business, and marine and boating.
Professional Journey
Insurance Technology Leadership (2016-2022) Started as implementation lead to convert clients from their source system to Applied Epic. Moved into Business Development role where he implemented a sales CRM software to accurately track and follow up with prospects and clients. Traveled around the country during this time to promote the brand and abilities of the company. Moved into the Director of Operations role and immediately saw a need to streamline operations by implementing a ticketing system.
Technology Innovation & Leadership During Covid-19, Erik was on a team responsible for the successful execution of moving employees to a work-at-home configuration. In 2022, he took on the role of VP, I.T., implementing a knowledge base tool and leading the development of a new proprietary system utilizing a refined server environment for maximum speed and uptime.
Entrepreneurial Ventures Founded Springfield Design and later created Studio 37 with a partner designing websites & marketing materials for small businesses. Designed Western Massachusetts Biker Information Guide for several years until it changed to Throttle Rocker Magazine and now digitally at Throttle Rocker Nation.

Erik's understanding of insurance technology challenges isn't just theoretical—it's grounded in real-world agency experience. As Principal of Hatteras Insurance, Erik brings hands-on experience as a sailor and power boater since childhood, having owned small powerboats, sailboats, a trawler and now a motoryacht.
